POSITION OVERVIEW


The Hotel Operations Training Manager is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs to enhance the capabilities and performance of our hotel Members across various departments. Your expertise in hotel operations and training will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring consistent service standards, and driving the professional growth of our Members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Design, create, and update training programs tailored to different hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services; Develop engaging and interactive training materials, presentations, and resources
  • Implement a structured onboarding process for new hires, providing them with a thorough introduction to the hotel's values, policies, procedures, and their specific job responsibilities
  • Instill a culture of exceptional guest service by designing training modules focused on interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and guest-centric attitudes; Ensure that Members embody the highest standards of hospitality
  • Conduct training sessions covering technical skills and operational procedures relevant to each department, such as front desk systems, housekeeping best practices, safety protocols, and food handling guidelines
  • Provide leadership training and coaching to supervisors and managers to strengthen their leadership capabilities, promote effective communication, and ensure cohesive team management
  • Facilitate engaging and impactful training sessions for hotel Members, utilizing a variety of training methodologies, including workshops, role-playing, simulations, and e-learning platforms
  • Develop evaluation metrics and assessments to gauge the effectiveness of training programs; Analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve training initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and supervisors to identify specific training needs and tailor programs to address departmental requirements effectively
  • Ensure that all Members receive mandatory compliance and safety training, adhering to industry regulations and legal standards
  • Encourage and support continuous learning and career development opportunities for hotel Members, facilitating certifications, workshops, and external training programs
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience in hotel operations and hospitality training, with a strong background in designing and delivering effective training programs
  • Four (4) years of leadership experience in hospitality and hotel operations
  • Previous experience in a large, luxury resort preferred
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of hotel operations, including revenue optimization, resort services, and back-of-house operations
  • Extensive technical literacy, with a strong understanding of hospitality management programs and other hotel technology innovations (automation, smart rooms, etc.)
  • Expertise in instructional design and the development of training materials
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members effectively
  • Proficiency in training software and learning management systems (LMS)
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage training schedules and resources efficiently
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training outcomes and measure the impact of training initiatives
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying training needs and schedules, including weekends and evenings as required
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities but will be motivating and influencing Hotel Operations Members.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
