POSITION OVERVIEW
The Interior Gardener is responsible for creating and maintaining lush and visually appealing indoor landscapes within the casino and resort premises. This role involves designing, implementing, and caring for interior gardens, plant displays, and decorative foliage to enhance the aesthetic appeal and atmosphere of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary :
- Collaborate with the design team to create interior landscaping concepts that complement the overall theme and ambiance of the casino and resort
- Select appropriate plant species, containers, and decorative elements to achieve the desired aesthetic
- Procure and install a variety of plants, flowers, and foliage according to the approved design plans
- Ensure proper placement, spacing, and arrangement of plants to create a visually captivating and harmonious environment
- Water, fertilize, prune, and groom plants to maintain their health and appearance
- Monitor and manage pests and diseases, implementing appropriate treatments when necessary
- Regularly rotate and replace plants as needed to ensure continuous vibrancy and variety
- Monitor and adjust environmental factors such as lighting, humidity, and temperature to create optimal growing conditions for various plant species
- Install and maintain irrigation systems, grow lights, and other equipment as required
- Select and prepare suitable growing mediums (soil, substrates) for different types of plants
- Choose and maintain containers that provide proper drainage and aesthetics
- Work closely with the facilities and maintenance teams to ensure proper care of plants and the overall environment
- Coordinate with other departments for special events or displays requiring unique plant arrangements
- Continuously update and refresh the interior landscaping to reflect seasonal changes and thematic events
- Introduce creative and innovative design elements to enhance the overall guest experience
- Request the procurement of plants, materials, and equipment to the Horticulture Manager
- Maintain accurate records of plant inventory, purchases, and expenses
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring that plant installations and maintenance do not pose any risks to guests or staff
- Educate staff and guests about the indoor garden features, plant care, and benefits of interior landscaping
- Work in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self-injury and unsafe work methods
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
