POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (“VP FP&A”) is responsible for leading the analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and labor management for the Company. The VP FP&A is also responsible for providing strategic financial input to senior management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary :

  • Responsible for overseeing the annual budgeting process, periodic re-forecasting efforts during the budget year, and analysis requirements across the Company
  • Lead and support a high-performing team of Financial Analysts in preparation of all reports and analyses
  • Oversee the Labor Management department’s efforts to measure labor effectiveness, make recommendations to operating departments, and maintain labor efficiency while preserving the luxury experience for guests
  • Collaborate with senior management and departments across the Company in identifying and executing analysis opportunities
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all ad-hoc analyses and reports, metrics, and dashboards
  • Prepare and analyze actual financial results with appropriate comparison to historical and projected performance
  • Lead the preparation and be capable of effectively presenting portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual Board of Directors presentations
  • Contribute to financial management of the Company by providing insights and recommendations on cash flow, cost identification, and revenue opportunities
  • Develop relationships with property leaders to ensure strong, effective communication between the FP&A team and operating departments
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field (MBA preferred) and / or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in a senior financial analysis managerial position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous gaming industry experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial analysis environment
  • Proven effective leadership, management, and development of assigned personnel (previous FP&A department leadership experience preferred)
  • Strong mathematical acumen and analytical background with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles as well as hotel, resort, and casino operating practices
  • Advanced computer skills, including high proficiency in MS Office (particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint), Tableau and / or MS Power BI, etc.
  • Must have experience with an Electronic Data Warehouse and overseeing the creation of views, reports, and other output of data from multiple systems feeding into same
  • Must be creative and motivated to overcome obstacles to obtain the data needed for effective analyses
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Commitment to ownership of responsibilities and to holding self and team accountable for strong performance
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position job supervises all positions in the Financial Planning and Analysis Department and the Labor Management Department.

    Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Excellent written communication skills in English also required.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply advanced analytical reasoning ability to identify relevant data, conduct detailed analysis, draw meaningful conclusions, prioritize the most important conclusions, and communicate them to senior management.

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
