Responsibilities
Review, coordinate and manage group / convention / programs as assigned by the Director of Catering and Convention Services by communicating between the client and the hotel throughout the pre-planning and execution phases .Responsibility for the successful outcome of group / convention / programs from pre-arrival through to post-departure.
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following :
Manage and execute the terms of the contract for the group / convention / program as outlined by the sales manager and per Fontainebleau standardsMaximize food, beverage and auxiliary revenues by selling menus, themes and experiences / activitiesCommunicate all details of assigned groups / conventions / weddings / programs to all departments in a professional, thorough and timely manner by using Convention and Social Group Resumes, Banquet Event Orders and internal correspondence effectivelyEstablish close working relationships with clients and Fontainebleau team membersEfficiently reserve and utilize function space to maximize revenues while minimizing space consumptionFacilitate pre-conference meetings with clients and key hotel staffWork closely with the client and hotel departments throughout the duration of assigned groups / conventions / programs by being available to assist the client and provide information to hotel departments at the appropriate timesMaintain a high level of service by continually providing accurate and timely information and feedback to all supporting departmentsAdhere to all standards and procedures as outlined by FontainebleauAccurately forecast Banquet revenue, covers and average checks based on group assignmentsConduct pre-planning site meetings and assist in the sales process where requiredMaintain the integrity of Sales & Catering at all timesPerform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Strong culinary and beverage knowledge and interestKnowledge and understanding of the Hotel guest room inventoryProven ability to plan and organize events effectively, with an acute sense of detailAssertive, professional and positive approach with a proven ability to develop and lead in a team environmentAbility to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests and employees.Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.Minimum of two (2) years Convention Services / Catering and hotel operations experience. Experience in a large convention hotel.Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management / Administration or related discipline preferred.
