What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applications Engineer, Inter - ENG - Engineering - Product position at Fontana?
Position Summary
In this role, you will provide the best solution to a customer’s technical needs. You will interface with customers, account managers and operations staff and will be responsible to coordinate all company resources (product engineering, product line etc) in order to conduct an applications project.
In this role you will report to the Supervisor, Applications Engineering, and will work onsite on a daily basis at our Fenton, MI location.
Your responsibilities in this role will include
Supports sales in the identification of customer requirements, specifications and preferences.
Develops fastening solutions (product & use recommendations) for customer specific applications.
Conducts existing product modifications in order to fit with customer-specific applications.
Manages VA/VE initiatives (tear down, line review).
Develops and maintains good customer rapport and a positive image through the customer contacts.
Participates in training and technical sessions.
Ensures application best practice sharing with all colleagues.
Completes and submits on a timely basis all required internal information, reports and documents.
Operates within the boundaries of all company guidelines and policies.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical
At least 3 years of engineering experience
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Strong communications skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to be flexible and adaptable
Proficient Office Suite skills
Travel Requirements: 25% of work time
