What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Manager, Mgr - OPS - Ops Admin position at Fontana?
As the Manufacturing Manager, you will supervise all aspects of the production process for an industry leading fasteners plant. You will direct, implement, and improve all activities relating to the cold forming production of material into salable products by optimizing people, assets, and time to meet customer demand. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages manufacturing processes including but not limited to Heading, Threading, Heat Treat and Tooling.
Supervises direct reports, such as Production Supervisors, and champions the training process for new Machine Operators. .
Monitors efficiency and performance in order to remain competitive and perpetuate the business.
Reviews operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develops and executes Lean Manufacturing practices.
Establishes standard work practices and effective training to meet those standards.
Participates in open communication, discussion, problem-solving sessions, training and education.
Participates in advanced quality planning and FMEA development
Ensures efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.
Creates equipment manning schedules to satisfy delivery obligations and customers. Monitors, evaluates and reacts in a timely manner to manpower needs as demand changes.
Manages capital investment projects including but not limited to planning and directing the layout of equipment.
Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor Degree in related field.
Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fastener industry.
Previous supervisory experience with both Salary and Hourly employees.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and prioritize competing deadlines.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer and data analyzation skills.
