The Delivery Driver is responsible for accurate and timely product deliveries to customers on assigned routes and verification and pick up of credits and inter-office mail. The Delivery Driver establishes and maintains positive working relationships with the company’s customers and is responsible for compliance of company standards and policies. The Delivery Driver makes sure the product is secured by keeping the back of the truck locked when not removing product.

Education
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Physical
• Able to maintain extended periods of sitting, standing, reaching, bending
• Able to lift/move 50lbs
• Able to climb in and out of a delivery truck repetitively
• Able to use a hand truck
• Clarity of vision near/ far distances and acceptable level of hearing
Travel
• Maintain a valid drivers license – comply with Company Fleet Policy

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs pre/post-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product
• Drives to destination as outlined in manifest, in a safe, responsible manner and in compliance with state laws and transportation regulations. Notifies Day Supervisor of any route changes, including time delays and non-delivered orders
• Secures product in the truck by keeping the truck locked when not removing product
• Maintains DOT daily logs and turns in monthly to the Day Supervisor
• Checks in with customer at each designated account and serves as company liaison for the customer resolving any issues or problems with the delivery
• Unloads product and delivers to assigned area within account as directed by the customer
• Contacts the Day Supervisor immediately with any cigarette or bundle count discrepancies
• Checks for credit authorizations and removes according to company guidelines
• Assists Customer Service and Corporate Buyer as needed in a prompt and professional manner
• Checks in with the Night Supervisor upon returning to the warehouse and reviews all product returned on the truck
• Submits, timely all paperwork to the appropriate personnel
• Picks up completed Food Bag paperwork from each location
• Performs additional duties as requested by the Day Supervisor
