Job Summary
The gas attendant dispenses fuel for the customer providing friendly, fast, accurate service promoting the company core values. The gas attendant keeps the fueling stations clean, neat, and organized promoting an inviting and safe work environment for the customer, coworkers, vendors, and visitors.
The Sales Associates main responsibility is to provide each customer with the highest level of customer service. Sales Associates contribute to store profitability by efficient ringing of the register to prevent inventory loss, efficient handling of money to prevent cash loss, helping control waste, and maintain low levels of money in cash drawers for safety. They play a key role in keeping the location neat, clean, well stocked, and safe; reporting any safety concerns to Management. Sales Associates perform tasks assigned to them by Management and work as part of a team with coworkers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities - Gas Attendant
• Provides great customer service by greeting the customer, smiling, and thanking them for their business
• Listens carefully to the grade and amount of gas the customer wants and verifies what they heard before dispensing
• Activates fuel pumps and fills gas tanks with proper grade of gas/diesel to specific amount the customer requested.
• Collects payments of cash or credit from the customer and provides the customer with receipts and correct change if paying with cash
• Handles money safely dropping frequently and working efficiently out of pocket
• Answers customers questions and gives directions
• Follows all state, federal, and local regulations regarding the dispensing of fuel
• Keeps parking lots clean emptying outside trash, cleaning pumps, and sweeping
• Clears oil and gas spills in accordance with all safety standards and properly disposes of the hazardous material
• Cleans the DPT readers and fills the receipt paper checking for tampering of the credit card reader
• Reports any evidence of tampering to management immediately
• Notifies management of any equipment malfunctions
• Replenishes outside supplies; window wash, paper towels, credit card applications
• Keeps outside displays fully stocked, rotated, and fronted noticing when they create a safety hazard and reporting the hazard to management
• Completes an attendant break and paperwork at the end of their shift
• Knows emergency procedures and where the emergency shut off is located
• Performs other duties as requested by the manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities - Sales Associate
• Interacts with each customer giving friendly, courteous, fast and accurate customer service
• Greets customers, suggestive sells, using please and thank you
• Follows all Company polices including dress code, employee purchases, credit card restrictions, call out procedures, gas spills, “tank monitoring alarms” currently called veeder-root alarms
• Enforces local, state, and federal regulations and laws by carding for age restricted products
• Works scheduled hours; punching in/out at appropriate times
• Becomes skilled and knowledgeable in all POS equipment (register, lottery terminal, pre-solutions) providing the customer excellent service; including changing paper and ribbons as needed
• Keeps store clean, dusting, mopping floors and cooler as needed, cleaning windows, dusting product, and cleaning shelving
• Keeps coffee fresh by holding only 1 hour, emptying grounds immediately after brewed, never opening bags before ready to brew, never brewing new into old
• Stocks product on cooler shelves in appropriate locations, fronts and faces product on main floor shelves, bags ice, fills ice in barrels and fountain machines and prices all product properly
• Keeps product fresh for the customer by checking date codes and pulling out of dates off shelves
• Knows how and when to clean equipment like coffee urns, fountain soda machines, latte machines, gas pumps
• Follows food safety precautions and regulations training all food handlers on proper safety and enforcing safe food practices; keeps a log of food service items and temperature checks
• Practices safe habits locking door at appropriate time at night, making frequent cash drops, keeping coin bank locked, being aware of their surroundings, paying attention to customers in the store and reporting any safety issues to management
• Helps management with the training of new employees, helps new employees continue to grow by answering questions or re-training them on a task and works well with all co-workers creating a positive team environment
• Records and completes accurately all required paperwork; store use, waste, cigarette counts, balancing etc
• Handles customer complaints with understanding and gets needed information for management to follow-up
