The Summer Business Partnerships Intern is a key member of the Corporate Engagement/Business Partnerships team and will support the administration and coordination of ongoing corporate fundraising and engagement programs. This position will support collaboratively across the organization as we work to garner investment in the organization’s mission from key stakeholders, donors, and volunteers.

Research & Administration
- Pitch potential corporate donor prospects
- Research corporate leads using online sponsorship platform
- Create a categorized list of new companies for engagement*
- Research engagement opportunities for new volunteer engagement center
- Update company records in NXT
- Daily upkeep of corporate partner inbox including coordination with volunteer engagement, member services, and fundraising operations
- Development of a lead tracking system identifying new and lapsed leads*
- Support new In-Office Corporate volunteer opportunity helping coordinate internally with creative and operational teams*
- Staff in-person pop-up food distributions with major corporate donors in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx
- Collaborate with Volunteer Engagement team for corporate volunteer initiatives at Food Bank locations including the West Harlem Community Kitchen & Pantry, and Hunts Point Warehouse & Distribution Center.
- Attend a variety of in-person Food Bank programs for general organizational knowledge, including but not limited to: Volunteer Opportunities, Mobile Pantries, Mission Engagement Tours, and Donor Stewardship events
- Participate in informational interviews with a diverse group of Food Bank leaders to gain knowledge of food bank operations and the nonprofit industry
- Attend and observe corporate partner meetings, when appropriate
- Participate in weekly Business Partnership team meetings
- Compassionate, patient, and sensitive to the needs of people experiencing food insecurity
- Basic computer skills; typing, data entry, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Canva
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Completion of a project that will impact the work being done at Food Bank For New York City
- Time with Senior Executives at intern specific fireside chats
- Presentation skills, present your completed project(s) to Food Bank stakeholders
- Knowledge of food systems, food safety, and food sustainability
- Experience working in the non-profit space.
