The Coopers Tavern is a gastro pub on the Capitol Square, in the heart of downtown Madison. Our menu is influenced by our travels, but sourced locally as much as possible. We have 28 premium craft beers featured on draft, inspired by European style taverns. Our whiskey list features over 130 of the finest bourbons, American, Scotch, and Irish whiskeys around. Position: Host

Work Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Compensation: With tips, $15-$20/hour 

Availability Expectations: This position is expected to start before end of December

About Position:

The hostess or host is responsible for greeting customers as they enter a restaurant, taking their reservation or putting them on a waiting list, giving the guest(s) menus and showing them to their seat. The host may also handle phone calls and customer queries about the restaurant and menu and assist various restaurant staff when necessary.

Job Requirements:

·        Great attitude and positive outlook

·        Strong customer service

·        Must have legible handwriting

·        Ability to stand for a long time and move quickly 

·        A dedication to teamwork 

·        Excellent oral communication skills required
