POSITION TITLE: Summer Food Program Partner Delivery Driver
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth and Family Programs Manager
HOURS PER WEEK: 25 hours
DATES OF POSITION: June 16, 2025 – August 25, 2025
CLASS: Non-exempt, hourly
COMPENSATION: $18.50/hour
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is a part-time seasonal, temporary position. Must be 18 years of age or older. The FOOD for Lane County (FFLC) Summer Food Program provides youth with nutritious meals where school meals are not available in the summer. This position delivers meals to community partners that serve as summer meal sites. After meal service concludes, the driver collects all equipment, paperwork, and leftover food and returns to the kitchen. In our effort to minimize food waste, this position will help transport food donations to various community partners. This position includes repetitive bending and lifting of up to 50lbs and frequently getting in and out of vehicle.
PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for transporting multiple coolers and program items in and out of a truck and between program sites
- Works in collaboration with coworkers and community partners to create a positive and safe environment
- Receives and turns in daily paperwork on time
- Keep track of inventory items in vehicle
- Communicate requests from partners to Program Manager
- Reports customer service issues to the Program Manager
- Clean program items daily
- Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- Assist with the flow of meal distribution by delivering last minute items to Site Supervisors as needed
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor

- Ability to manage stress, be flexible, and respond to unexpected changes
- Ability to obtain a current Food Handler’s Card
- Safe Driving record, valid Oregon driver's license, reliable transportation, and comply with FFLC's insurance carrier's requirements to drive a company vehicle
- Ability to drive a box truck

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds repetitively
- Physical ability to enter and exit your vehicle up to 15 times in a two-hour period
- Ability to safely work in a warehouse setting with lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, walking, carrying, as well as pushing and pulling carts, moving pallets, and transporting food and carts in and out of industrial refrigerators
- The use of a smart phone will be necessary to meet the requirements of this position. FFLC will provide a company phone or monthly reimbursement towards a personal phone plan.
WORK LOCATION: This position will work between FFLC locations, rented facilities, and community sites.
