JOB DUTIES:
The AutoCAD Draftsman is a very important position and is the go-to person for every drawing that flows into or out of Facilities Department. It is a position of great responsibility, requiring not only excellent AutoCAD skills, but also good communication skills, organizational abilities, and the strongest possible focus on quality. This person is the keeper of the drawings, who sees sketches become drawings that ultimately become construction documents. The AutoCAD Draftsman job description aims to highlight the multi-faceted role of the person creating, altering, and managing construction drawings.
- Obtain and assemble data, to complete schematic level architectural designs, and visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
- Convert rough sketches and specifications created by Owner and Architect.
- Create accurate CAD drawings, based on concepts, sketches, equipment data sheets, verbal Instructions and site visits.
- Layout and plan interior room arrangements for commercial retail buildings using AutoCad software.
- Check dimensions of fixtures and equipment to be used and prepare equipment schedules and lists of materials.
- Printing various formats of drawings’ sets for Project Managers
- Create, edit, and update standard details for use in projects
- Manage electronic filing system
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Training and Experience:
- Two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a Cad Operator role.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Lowe’s facilities department manages design and construction of retail grocery facilities. The selected Draftsman will become a part of our team as an essential team player, in the designing and management of highly complicated and specialized grocery facilities.
An aptitude for architectural, construction, and mechanical drafting, as well as a willingness to work hard to design and manage quality facilities will ensure the selected draftsman becomes a key factor in our organization.

- Required knowledge AutoCAD, Sketchup and basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Medium work-exerting 20-50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must posses good audio, visual and hearing acuity. Requires walking and/ or standing up to a significant degree. Must be able to climb, stand, bend, push or pull, twist, grasp, squeeze, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, handle, finger and feel. Subject to psychological stress.
