Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Culinary Director to join our leadership team. This role combines culinary creativity with operational excellence. You will oversee recreational cooking classes, manage kitchen inventory and facilities, train and develop staff, and contribute to brand growth and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and lead a variety of recreational cooking classes for students of all skill levels
- Support the Culinary Director in developing new class concepts, menus, and seasonal offerings
- Maintain and manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure operational efficiency
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Train, mentor, and support culinary instructors and kitchen assistants to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and evaluating culinary staff
- Represent the brand during public events, partnerships, and collaborations
- Collaborate with marketing to promote classes and culinary initiatives, increasing brand visibility
- Support budgeting and cost-control measures within culinary operations
Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional culinary experience, including teaching or public-facing cooking experience
- Proven experience in kitchen management, including inventory and staff training
- Passion for education, hospitality, and community building
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for classes and events
- ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred
- Creativity, flexibility, and a commitment to excellence
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
