Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the proper receiving of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a positive shopping experience through fast, friendly, and accurate customer service.
• Work effectively with vendors to resolve errors, policy violations, or excessive inventory issues.
• Ensure timely promotions by all vendors and implement weekly merchandising notes in a timely manner.
• Verify accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams and account for daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer and wine invoices, and properly file them.
• Check EDI invoices to ensure there are no outstanding invoices and handle all reclaim and damages.
• Conduct CAO-related activities, stocking, and rotating cigarette cartons consistently.
• Use company tools such as ACIS and ordering systems effectively and maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures, observing and correcting all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents.
• Report all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and wear the Food Lion uniform while adhering to the dress code.
Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
