The Production Manager oversees the production process and team to ensure efficient, high-quality operations. This role focuses on exceeding safety, environmental, quality, customer service, and cost performance goals. The manager leads process improvements, reduces downtime, fosters employee development, and builds leadership within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive efficiency, performance, and cost improvements while prioritizing quality and safety.
- Reduce unscheduled downtime and promote employee engagement and ownership.
- Lead focus teams to improve operations and enforce policies (GMPs, PPE, OHSA, etc.).
- Develop strategies for accident reduction and waste minimization.
- Oversee compliance with regulations and corporate standards.
- Ensure staff training, cross-training, and goal achievement through performance management.
- Contribute to budgeting and strategic long-term planning.
- Maintain communication of goals and results (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent, 5 years in production/operations, and leadership experience in fast-paced environments. Food/beverage industry experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and Microsoft Office. Strong prioritization, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking abilities. Knowledge of SQF and Food Safety/Quality is essential.
