REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English.
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (FNS).
- A CDL Class B driver’s license and an acceptable driving record;
- Ability to obtain a forklift certification within department required timeframes.
PREFERRED:
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives truck to destination. Prepares receipts for load picked up. Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck.
Inspects truck equipment, supplies and maintains a daily vehicle inspection log that includes the servicing of tires, lights and all fluid levels. Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, spark plugs, securing and preparing vehicles for transport if needed. Positions, blocks, and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. Operates electrical forklift and the manual hand lift carefully and efficiently. Loads and pulls items for delivery and checks for accuracy. Housekeeping duties as assigned; painting, sweeping, or organizing and assisting in the sanitation maintenance of the warehouse. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
