What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Kitchen Equipment Technician position at FOOD SVC ADMIN?
Primary Purpose
Assist the Director of Child Nutrition: provide exemplary customer service; ensure quality installation, repair, and maintenance of all kitchens related equipment and systems. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
High School diploma or GED.
Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check – must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance.
HVAC/Refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment certification/license preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective computer skills including basic knowledge of district software and district work order system.
Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair: Refrigeration equipment and or commercial kitchen equipment.
Able to read extensive wiring diagrams.
Extensive knowledge in the use of meters, gauges, hand tools and power tools
Experience
Minimum 5 years HVAC/refrigeration and/or commercial kitchen equipment experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Respond to emergencies after hours, on weekends and holidays with little or no
- Diagnose refrigeration mechanical and/or commercial kitchen equipment failures and scope of
- Recommend and assist in scheduling repairs with contracted vendors when scope is beyond in- house capabilities.
- Be observant in buildings and report any safety
- Recommend supplies, equipment and parts for
- Supervise Child Nutrition maintenance personnel and effectively assign work
- Assist in evaluation of Child Nutrition Kitchen Equipment and Refrigeration
- Schedule and participate in Child Nutrition equipment preventive maintenance
- Maintain constant communication with Director of Child Nutrition about equipment and systems failures.

Equipment Used
Including but not limited to all types of HVAC hand tools, diagnostic instruments and equipment manufacturer’s software. Use of large A-frame step ladders and extension ladders up to 30’. Use of forklifts, Gantry/chain hoists and lift gates.
