II. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Agency Program Driver is responsible for supporting the Agency program by delivering food in an accurate and timely manner and providing exceptional customer service to food shelves and meal programs within The Food Group’s network. The Program Driver will routinely pick up food donations from local businesses and food drive coordinators. This position will be based at our New Hope location and will drive routes throughout the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area.
This position is accountable for working with other team members to ensure operational responsibilities are accomplished to support the Agency program. The Program Driver will also participate in cross-training initiatives that allow drivers the opportunity to learn and become comfortable with driving responsibilities across the full range of The Food Group programs.

III. Core Job Functions
Primary job duties and responsibilities include:
- Delivers food orders to partners across the TFG network, providing exceptional customer service that meets and exceeds expectations
- Interacts with customers in a professional manner
- Follows and ensures all DOT and company regulations related to company vehicles and the safe transportation of food
- Completes daily vehicle inspection reports, notifying the Transportation Manager of vehicle maintenance needs
- Loads daily cargo, ensuring deliveries are accurate and secured for transport.
- Ensures on-time deliveries
- Collects required client signatures on order paperwork and returns all the necessary documentation to the appropriate company official
- Receives cross-training in the transportation needs of other TFG programs
- Assists in the completion of warehouse maintenance duties, as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Experience in operating 40’ straight trucks and loading and securing freight preferred
- Experience in driving commercial trucks in urban and rural locations
- Experience in operating lift gates desirable
- Experience in working in a warehouse environment, including operating warehouse power equipment such as power jacks and forklifts
- Experience (or willingness to learn) warehouse management software
- Ability to work with co-workers and customers from diverse socio-economic backgrounds
- Willingness to participate in and support company-wide initiatives, including equity and diversity training
- All employees must pass a pre-employment background study
- Minimum Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience preferred
- Retail or customer service experience a plus
- Licenses and Certifications
- Class B commercial driver’s license
- Current commercial driver medical certificate, or the willingness to attain
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must participate in random drug screening tests to comply with state and federal regulations
