Job Summary
The Category Development Manager, Front of House Retail Growth role is an exciting opportunity to accelerate your career in procurement within the Retail Growth team at Foodbuy.
Based on the marketing foundations of product, price, place and promotion, we work with top beverage and snack suppliers and brands to drive retail sales growth through promotional execution! In this creative and strategic role, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of supplier promotional initiatives and activities through our Promotional Catalogs and respective programs. You will also work creatively to develop materials designed to educate field operators on retail best practice. You will work hand in hand with our fastest growing Compass sectors, foster supplier relationships with key strategic suppliers, and engage cross-functionally with team members to present program opportunities designed to deliver program growth. As a Retail Marketing & Promotions Manager, you will be required to leverage skills including good communication, creativity, problem solving, margin management, marketing strategies and merchandising. This role includes strong project management, strategic marketing, and customer service components. This role is located in Charlotte, NC coming in Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
What You'll Do
- Manage relationships with suppliers and business partners specifically in the Marketing and Promotions category.
- Execution of activities that align to the Marketing & Promotional strategies including development of promotional activities, Retail Growth communications, category and retail growth analysis, and marketing / customer engagement.
- Execute program strategy to achieve business objectives and delivers strong financial results year over year.
- Respond to field requests for additional information about products and programming.
- Partner with supplier partners to drive savings opportunities and expand product offering for programs and promotions.
- Develop plans to increase product penetration in outlets.
- Develop materials to train and educate operators on retail best practice through various communication vehicles including manager guides, presentations, social media, and more.
- Continuously search for new opportunities to enhance category revenue and margin.
- Support other projects as assigned.
