FoodMinds is seeking a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to be an integral part of our team. You will work with high-profile food and beverage clients to provide counsel on the food and nutrition environment and related business implications. Responsibilities include supporting nutrition, health & wellness communications programs, ongoing monitoring of the food and nutrition environment and translating science into compelling content for diverse audiences. Strong writing skills and a foundational knowledge of food and nutrition policy, as well as the factors driving change in the food environment, are important for this role.
This position is based in our Chicago, Minneapolis, New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Richmond or Washington D.C. office. This is not a fully remote position.

Your Responsibilities
- Stay up to date on the food, health and nutrition policy, research and media landscape, with an eye to important topics such as nutrient profiling, labeling, marketing regulations, sustainability, dietary guidance, precision nutrition, food as medicine, and more.
- Translate complex and/or technical science or policy details into actionable recommendations and communications strategies for clients and a variety of stakeholders audiences
- Maintain and grow relationships with thought leaders in food and beverage companies, nutrition and dietetics communications, media, government, trade associations, and research institutions.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory actors and processes, both in the U.S. and internationally.
- Manage projects, including budget, timelines and workplans, reporting and project teams (managing up and down) with accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness.
- Work with client teams as a day-to-day contact.
- Actively contribute ideas in team meetings and brainstorm sessions.
- Proactively manage time and projects against deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, can-do attitude and an acute eye for detail and high-quality work

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering oral presentations and developing sophisticated PowerPoint presentations

- Anticipate account needs or opportunities, and creatively problem solve as needed.
- Show passion for and understanding of food and nutrition trends and issues, health and nutrition media, food policy, and sustainable food systems
- Build meaningful relationships with clients and other partners, demonstrating FoodMinds’ unique expertise and value as a trusted and respected partner in food and nutrition communications.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, occasionally operate office equipment and travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition, public health, public policy or a related discipline; equivalent working experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience working in food and nutrition communications or related roles
- Registered dietitian credential required
- Communications agency experience preferred
