Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical/Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional patient care experience in an private practice clinic setting, supporting our foot and ankle specialists in delivering the highest quality, innovative, evidence based lower extremity care. Responsibilities
- Complying with Company Values and striving to help us achieve and deliver on our mission
- Obtaining and documenting health history information, vitals, and subjective clinical concerns from the patient when rooming
- Ensuring all medical records are kept up to date for patients
- Obtaining x-rays when ordered by the doctor (once certification is complete- the company pays for training and testing)
- Educating patients on treatment plans, including review of consent and pre and postoperative care plans
- Dispensing medical supplies and equipment to patients and educating them on the use and importance in treatment
- Setting up for and assisting the doctor with in-office procedures
- Applying medical dressings as needed
- Send prescriptions to pharmacy as directed by doctor
- Scheduling patients for testing and surgeries
- Completing all components of checklists for testing and surgery scheduling
- Performing prior authorizations as needed
- Triage patient calls and address appropriate questions and direct others to appropriate team member when unable to answer question or resolve issue
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information
- Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
- Assist in maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
- Cleaning and sanitization of instruments and maintenance of equipment
- Keep clinic rooms appropriately stocked
- Completion of other tasks as assigned by the Clinic Care Coordinator, Clinic Director or doctors.
- Assist team in cleaning duties of the clinic and maintain clean clinic rooms and workspaces
- Recommending process changes to improve clinic flow and efficiency
- Adhere to policies and procedures during all activities
- Assist Front Office Specialist with patient scheduling and registration duties as needed
- All Medical Assistants will be crossed trained to perform front office duties all well
- Perform blood draws (based on scope of practice) as directed
- Scribing for doctors as needed
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma (Required); Nursing or Medical Assisting (Preferred); Certification and Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- Experience: Nursing/Medical Assisting 1 year (Preferred); Computer skills, including working with a scheduling/patient management system and Electronic Medical Records (Preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Team oriented with a growth mindset
- Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure and react effectively in difficult situations
