Our office is looking for a highly skilled Medical Front Desk Receptionist to provide essential support and administrative services to our doctors, staff, and patients in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including patient customer service, scheduling, data entry, managing electronic health records, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon arrival and address their questions and concerns.
- Answer incoming calls, provide information, and transfer calls or take messages as necessary.
- Schedule appointments and register new patients while collecting detailed personal and financial information.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patient's arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
- Maintain and update patient records using data entry, faxing, and scanning.
- Collect deductibles, coinsurance, balances, copays and sell OTC items.
- Ensure all required AR/AP changes are up-to-date and accurate.
- Maintain multiple doctor's schedules and manage business office inventory and equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other employees, and the public.
- 2 years' admin support in a medical environment preferred.
- Knowledge about health insurance, pre-authorization, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-9 codes preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism at all times.
- Team mentality, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
- Effective communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
