What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Foot and Ankle?
Hello!
We are a growing medical office looking for a professional, highly trainable medical assistant who can also cover front office work when needed. Experience is helpful but not necessary as we will provide full training for this position. The right candidate must be customer service oriented, friendly, outgoing, and a team player willing to go the extra step to get the job done. We reward hard work!
Looking for part-time or full-time. Willingness to travel between 2 offices is a plus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patient intakes/histories, taking x-rays, scanning for orthotics, insurance verifications, sending/verifying prescriptions, handling clinical notes/letters, answering/making phone calls, patient check-out, collecting payments, and providing front office coverage when needed, which requires learning front office as well.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Ability to communicate positively with patients and payers/strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to use standard computer/technology devices and applications
- Athena (EMR) experience (or quick learner with other EMR experience) is a plus
- Knowledge of Insurance and Benefits is a plus
- Previous experience as a back office medical assistant is highly desirable
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
