Essential Job Responsibilities

• Coding podiatry, vascular, and family medicine using Advanced MD software
• Review provider documentation to correctly assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Communicate with providers and office staff to report documentation deficiencies and follow up on outstanding queries
• Working collaboratively with various RCM teams to enhance workflow quality and coding accuracy
• Ensuring compliance with coding regulations and industry standards
• Stay updated on changes related to medical coding regulations
• Collaborate with other departments within the medical office to ensure seamless operations
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements/Qualifications

• Current CCS, CIC, RHIT or CPC certification, required
• 3 years working full-time as a medical coder assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes based on provider documentation
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week)
• Strong understanding of medical terminology/anatomy
• Strong accountability, work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in using office software applications for documentation and reporting
• Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and various RCM team members
