Job Title : Cost Engineer
Location : Houston, TX
Duration : 6 months
Rate : $55–$65 / hour
Hours : 40 hours per week
Overview :
This role involves supporting cost control and scheduling for small-scale maintenance projects, primarily focused on crude gathering systems. The position requires hands-on cost tracking, schedule development, and project coordination within a collaborative and flexible work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to : Develop and maintain cost tracking systems for ongoing projects.
- Create and manage schedules, including 20-line schedules, to ensure project timelines are met.
- Analyze and report on project budgets, expenditures, and variances.
- Ensure compliance with internal cost and schedule management procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to address budgetary and scheduling issues.
- Utilize Excel and Oracle software for cost analysis and reporting.
- Qualifications : 2–10 years of experience in cost engineering or project controls, preferably in energy or infrastructure projects like gathering, terminals or meter stations.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Oracle is preferred.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with scheduling, including small-scale (20-line) schedules, is required.
- Knowledge of West Texas crude gathering systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities..
