We have developed an effective, step-by-step lesson plan over 35 years in the business. We start with very basic skills and concepts and repeat those things until we're satisfied they are ready to add a little more. Then we do a small, sequential step forward and repeat that one. Etc. Etc. It's step by step and designed to develop confidence and keep everyone safe throughout the process. We always say "if you're feeling nervous you're doing it wrong!" Just take a step backward and make sure you and the students are always in situations they can handle.
Job Description
We are currently hiring for weekday afternoon/evening shifts. The hours are negotiable but we do need to be available into the evening to accommodate our many high school students. Typical weekday shift is something like 11-730 for a full shift, or 230-9 for a shorter one, etc.
The office staff takes care of all scheduling and customer service. Your primary responsibility would be teaching driving.
We provide vehicles. Well maintained vehicles in perfect running condition. We also provide fuel, insurance, maintenance, etc.
Training:
Full training will be provided. We offer the most comprehensive training in the business. You will observe our instructors and then be observed by our trainers until you are fully skilled and comfortable in teaching driving.
A DMV instructor's license will be necessary. Your training and an at-home course will prepare you for a written DMV exam.

Training and licensing:
We provide full education and training to help you get your license at DMV and effectively do the job when you start. Training would include a take-home instructor education course and observation time in the car with our instructors. We would also observe and train you after receiving your license to be sure you (and we) are comfortable and effective in the job before going out on your own.
Compensation:
Starting hourly wages for teaching on weekends would be $21.50/hour. Weekday wages would be $20/hour.
Requirements:
- Valid California driver's license.
- High school diploma
- No points on the driving record last 3 years. (No DUI or similar for at least 7 years)
- DMV Instructor's license required. We can prepare and qualify you for the license if you're not already licensed. There is also a physical and live-scan fingerprint required to get a license.
- Professional demeanor, attire, and appearance are a must'
Hours per week: 12-30 (Up to you! We may hire one person for the full 30, or a couple of people to split the hours.)
