Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience, a genuine passion for working with children, and an eagerness to learn and help where needed.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to stimulate the intellectual and · Maintain a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment according to CDHS regulations
- Ensure all CDHS regulations are adhered to within the classroom setting
- Ensure children are well supervised according to CDHS regulations
- Maintain high quality program standards
- Monitor ill children and illness policy compliance
- Work with teaching team to design and implement meaningful curricular experiences in the content areas of language and literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, drama, movement, and technology
- Assist staff in identifying special needs of children and /or families, and refer to relevant community resources, with input and approval of director
- Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions
- Encourage children’s development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
- Treat all children in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner while maintaining respect for their language and socio-economic background
- Implement and maintain a program that meets the needs of young children at different ages and developmental needs
- Assist with toileting (changing diapers, clothes, cleaning up after incidents, etc.)
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- ECE Lead Qualified is a significant plus*
- Proven experience working with preschool-aged children
- Some knowledge of child development theories and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia approach to learning or other progressive teaching methods is advantageous

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
