Foothills Animal Shelter seeks an animal care supervisor to lead our animal care team in providing high-quality cleaning and care for the animals served by the Shelter.

What You’ll Do
- Motivate, coach, and mentor the animal care team, including two department leads and up to twelve animal care technicians, focusing on the care and wellbeing of the people as well as the animals.
- Lead by example. Roll up your sleeves and work alongside the animal care team to complete daily tasks.
- Implement processes to improve the animal experience, drawing on Fear Free™ principles while leading the animal care team in providing the best experience possible for the animals in our care.
- Be the point-person for situational problem-solving for the animal care team, providing process-related feedback in the moment to minimize errors that may impact the animal experience.
- Support the training and development of new team members by modeling and coaching both the hard skills (task-based) and soft skills (compassion, empathy, understanding) required for success.
- Ensure all department operations are compliant with the Colorado Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) and all other applicable state and local animal care and sheltering requirements.

- The pay rate for this position will be $24 - $25 per hour, depending on the depth and breadth of relevant experience. Bilingual (Spanish/English) supervisors receive an additional $1.00 per hour upon passing a Spanish language oral proficiency exam. Employees in this position are eligible for a pay increase of $0.50 per hour upon certification and regular scheduling as a euthanasia technician.
