Job Summary
The Part-Time Pantry Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the food pantry, ensuring efficient distribution of food to individuals and families in need. This role involves supervising volunteers, managing inventory, maintaining food safety standards, coordinating the client appointment system, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and a passion for helping others.
Duties
- Supervise Pantry Operations: Ensure smooth food distribution, restocking, and organization of the pantry.
- Manage Client Appointments: Oversee the scheduling system for client visits, ensuring fair and efficient access to pantry services.
- Volunteer Coordination: Train and support pantry volunteers to maintain a welcoming and efficient environment.
- Client Assistance: Provide respectful and compassionate service while assisting clients in selecting food items.
- Inventory Management: Track food supplies, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with the food bank team for restocking.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Follow food handling guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food distribution, client visits, and inventory.
- Community Outreach: Work with staff to promote pantry services and connect clients with additional resources.
Skills
- Experience in food service, nonprofit work, customer service, or appointment scheduling preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with scheduling software or willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
