Grange Bartender

Pleasant counter servers needed at Foothills Grange.

A bit about our business: we are a family-owned restaurant in Black Mountain, NC that serves an iconic menu of smash burgers, homemade hotdogs, and tallow fries. Although our menu is similar to fast food, we only serve local meat and cook every burger to order. Our meat is ethically sourced from farms in WNC and processed from whole animals at our butcher shop around the corner from the Grange. We offer competitive pay as well as discounts at the restaurant and at the butchery. A bit about your work ethic: you prefer small-town charm over big city lights. You enjoy connecting with guests and ensuring they feel taken care of. You are consistent, thoughtful, and prompt. You can handle a very fast pace. In your downtime, you know how to prep for the next rush and lend a hand to co-workers who are “in the weeds.”

What we will ask of you:

• Take food and drink orders for all guests
• Always remain educated on our menu offerings and able to respond to any requests or questions about our menus, dietary restrictions and other restaurant functions and services
• Create, prepare, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s drink recipes.
• Assist the restocking of bar inventory and supplies throughout a given shift in addition to required side work

Requirements:

• Be 21 years of age or older with prior FOH restaurant experience
• Have a positive energy, understanding that the Grange staff operates as a team
• Demonstrate an ability to communicate kindly and effectively with managers, employees, and all customers
• Demonstrate an ability to handle a high volume for extended periods while maintaining quality of service
• Have a flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to constantly stand/walk with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
