Front of House Staff (Servers, Server Assistants, Food Runners, Hosts) for High-End Chef-Inspired Restaurant – Opening November

We are excited to announce the opening of our new high-end, chef-inspired steakhouse in Black Mountain, NC, this November. As part of the same family as Foothills Grange, we are dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences through premium ingredients and a creative, modern menu. About You:
You are an experienced server, server assistant, food runner, or host who thrives in a guest-focused, fast-paced, and upscale setting. You have a passion for providing exceptional service and creating memorable dining experiences. Whether interacting with guests at the front door, on the floor, or delivering food, you are always professional, approachable, and attentive to detail. Your teamwork skills, combined with your strong sense of hospitality, set you apart.
Available Positions:
- Servers: You will be responsible for creating an unforgettable dining experience for every guest. From greeting tables to expertly explaining menu items and wine pairings, your goal is to provide attentive, gracious service while ensuring guest satisfaction from start to finish.
- Server Assistants: You will be a crucial support role, helping the servers by clearing and resetting tables, refilling drinks, and assisting with any guest needs throughout service. Your role is essential in maintaining the flow of the dining room.
- Food Runners: You will work closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure that food is delivered promptly and accurately to guests. You’ll be the final touchpoint between the kitchen and the table, ensuring that each dish arrives looking its best.
- Hosts: You are the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. You will be responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, and communicating with both guests and staff to ensure smooth service. Your attention to detail and welcoming demeanor are crucial in creating a positive first impression.
What We Ask of You:
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and cooking methods, to confidently answer guest questions
- Provide personalized and attentive service to each guest, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the dining room and host stand
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and care
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down service areas
- Support your fellow team members by assisting when needed to create a seamless dining experience
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies, ensuring that both guest and team safety is a priority
Front of House Requirements:
- Previous experience in an upscale or fine dining environment is highly preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff
- A positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn and adapt to the flow of service
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with physical stamina to lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay:
- Servers: $2.15 per hour plus tips (expected to average $25-$40 per hour)
- Server Assistants/Food Runners: $4.00 per hour plus tips (expected to average $15-$25 per hour)
- Hosts: $14-$20 per hour, depending on experience
Expected hours: 16–40 hours per week
