Busy Pain Management Office looking for a Medical Assistant to cover FRONT-DESK for Check in and Check Out. Position will be full time and pay DOE. We have 2 MD's and 5 Mid-level Clinicians. Multiple offices this position is for the Rancho Cucamonga with travel to other office in Pomona, Covina, West Covina and LA for Training and Coverage if necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
Answer Heavy Phone Lines
Assist Clinician with Needs for Patient Care
Explaining treatment procedures to patients
Scheduling of Appointments for Office and Procedures
Assist Clinician in preparing Prescriptions
Authorizing prescription refills as directed
Prior Authorizations for Non-Covered Medication
Answer patients’ queries and ensure quality customer service
Collection of Samples for Drug Screening
Using computer applications, EHR system (Allscripts Pro)
Direct Phone Calls to Appropriate Extension
Take Complete Messages
Greeting patients and provide patient care
Updating and electronically filing patient medical records
Scheduling appointments for Office and Procedures
Scheduling New Patient's to ensure Office Schedule is FULL
Medical Records Processing Requests and Collecting Payment
Maintaining Spreadsheets of work
Communicating with Referring Physicians to ensure Medical Records are Received for New Patients
Handling correspondence
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Coding
Authorization Submission to multiple Insurance via paper and Electronic
Review of Authorization to Ensure services are Covered
Verify Eligibility and Benefits
Requirements:
Completion of a Medical Assistant Course with Certification or Degree (Preferred but NOT Required with Experience)
Proven work experience as a Medical Assistant in Front and Back Office
Knowledge of healthcare operations
Familiarity with Medical and Insurance Legislation
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Customer-oriented communication skills
Bilingual in Spanish
You will perform various tasks on a daily basis. So, you should be able to multitask and prioritize. We also expect you to handle sensitive information confidentially. If you are able to combine exceptional communication skills with an ability to perform ‘behind the scenes’ tasks, we would like to meet you. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our medical facility’s smooth operation by accurately completing administrative tasks in a timely manner.
