Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, FP&A plays a critical role in our organization, leading financial planning, analysis, and decision support activities. This role involves overseeing the assessment of financial information, guiding the development of reports, providing strategic insights to senior leadership, and driving the financial aspects of the organization’s strategic planning efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Leadership
• Set objectives and regularly measure progress at the team and individual level, providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done.
• Make good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward while anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Realize when to shift strategic direction.
2. Forecasting & Reporting
• Lead the development of long-term and short-term financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Oversee the creation of complex financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• Drive the identification of business issues and opportunities through comprehensive analysis of financial and non-financial data.
• Synthesize and communicate vast amounts of financial data into concise, actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by leading the challenge of inputs and performing rigorous reasonability assessments.
• Proactively establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance decision-making processes.
• Lead the development and presentation of the monthly financial reporting package to executive management.
3. Financial Planning & Budgeting
• Oversee the preparation and interpretation of operational budgets, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
• Present, defend, and negotiate business plans with executive leadership, ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in.
• Identify and assess risks/variances in business performance, and provide strategic recommendations to resolve gaps.
• Drive the continuous improvement of the financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring they support the organization’s strategic goals.
4. Business Partnering
• Establish and strengthen alliances within the finance organization and across the business, positioning finance as a strategic partner in decision-making. • Serve as a key advisor in the development of the organization’s strategic business agenda, providing financial insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop and maintain dashboards and reports that highlight opportunities for performance improvement and goal achievement.
5. Process Improvement
• Lead the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance and streamline existing financial processes.
• Challenge conventional approaches to finance processes and tools, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates/incumbents must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below
• Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or other related disciplines. MBA preferred
• General understanding of accounting, financial and operational principles
• 3 years of experience in managing and mentoring finance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
• 8 or more years of professional experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.
- Tableau experience preferred.
- Strong skills in data analytics, problem-solving, and financial modeling.
- Proven ability to convert complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
