Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a team environment, and can step in as needed to fill gaps in staffing. The support staff/floater supports the teachers and director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. They must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the assistant teacher observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Assistant teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of admin and teachers as needed.

Duties
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of learning activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment ? including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain personal professional development by staying up to date on state mandated hours/trainings.
- Ability to utilize classroom management skills Following closing procedures as listed in classrooms with opening/closing classrooms.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a professional setting (preferred but not required).
- Ability to maintain a positive and nurturing environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, with the availability to fill in on short notice.
