ABOUT FKO:
For Kids Only Afterschool (FKO) is a non-profit, out-of-school time provider based in five communities. FKO’s mission is to help kids learn, love and grow together with their communities – encouraging youth to leave their own mark on the world through individual journeys of peace and kindness.
Location: Hybrid w/ some in-office work (FKO Admin Office, 11 Bartlett Road, Winthrop MA) and travel to program locations
Schedule: Seasonal, Full-Time Hourly (40 hours/week) - Monday through Friday
JOB DESCRIPTION:
FKO is looking for a Summer Food Program Coordinator to oversee the coordination and management of The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). An ideal candidate will have a background in food service and/or nutrition and believe in the overall mission of FKO.
Duties of the Summer Food Program Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Develop weekly meal and snack menu with consideration to budgetary and nutritional guidelines;
- Purchase all food and supplies necessary for food service operations;
- Develop and maintain an inventory and quality control system to ensure safety and nutrition;
- Ensure all programs maintain accurate SFSP records and operate in accordance with USDA and DESE standards;
- Provide training to FKO staff on nutrition standards, safe food practices, etc.;
- Serve as primary contact between food vendors and FKO program locations;
- Conduct regular site reviews at FKO programs to maintain sanitation and safety standards and ensure compliance with SFSP policies;
- Complete monthly claims through Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
- Submit accurate and timely reimbursement reports to FKO Finance Department;
- Daily communication with FKO program leaders;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of High School diploma required;
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field a plus;
- Minimum of two years’ experience in food/nutrition service;
- ServSafe Certification preferred;
- Prior knowledge of CACFP and/or Summer Food Program preferred;
- Valid drivers license, access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel to six FKO program locations in the communities of Chelsea, Everett, Peabody, Revere and Winthrop
- Must pass MA EEC Background Record Check
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing for long periods of time, as well as stooping, squatting and running
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Must be able to list up to 15 pounds at times
