For People

POSTED ON 3/18/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/16/2025

For People improves digital services for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations by embedding directly in government agencies. We modernize software, systems, and platforms to ensure they better serve the people who need them the most. We're a fully remote, human-centered team that prioritizes positive work-life balance and the well-being of our people.

Your Impact

As a UX Designer and Researcher at For People, you will contribute to transforming the user experience for the Medicaid Drug Program (MDP) product suite at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Your work will contribute to ensuring that Medicaid beneficiaries have access to affordable medications by improving the usability, accessibility, and overall effectiveness of the digital tools used for drug pricing negotiations, compliance tracking, and cost transparency. You will apply research methods to understand the needs of state officials, drug manufacturers, and CMS administrators, translating those insights into intuitive, accessible, and visually effective designs. In this role, you will not only identify user pain points but also craft elegant solutions, using wireframing, prototyping, and iterative design to improve digital workflows and interactions. Your work will ensure that complex government systems are not just functional but also visually clear, easy to navigate, and engaging for end users.

Our Culture

For People is a team of humans. We place a significant amount of emphasis on positive work-life balance, setting healthy expectations, and making sure our loved ones are taken care of first. That means picking a child up from school during the day or going for a mid-day walk is okay!

Our entire team is remote across the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast. There will never be a return-to-office, as we have none!

  • Ensure accessibility and compliance with design standards, including Section 508 and the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS)
  • Use tools like Figma, Figjam, and Dovetail for research synthesis, visualization, and design execution
You Bring
  • 4 years of experience conducting user experience research and designing for accessible, intuitive digital products or services, ideally within government or highly regulated sectors
