Optician

For Your Eyes Only, located in North Raleigh, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist customers in selecting eyewear, ensuring proper fit, and providing expert advice on lens options and coatings. You will also be responsible for making adjustments, repairs, and educating customers on eye care products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses based on prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences

• Take accurate measurements for proper eyeglass fitting, including pupillary distance and segment height

• Interpret and explain optical prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists

• Adjust, repair, and fit eyeglasses to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction

• Educate customers on lens materials, coatings, and proper eyewear maintenance

• Process eyewear orders and verify the accuracy of finished glasses

• Maintain knowledge of the latest eyewear trends and technological advancements

• Handle sales transactions and manage insurance billing when necessary

• Ensure compliance with optical health and safety regulations

• Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus)

• Previous experience in an optical setting required

• Strong knowledge of eyewear products, lens types, and optical tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of style to assist customers in choosing frames

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional customer service
