Role Summary
My clinet is looking for a Vice President of Engineering to direct and oversee all aspects of engineering operations, including design, development, and production. This role involves managing the utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure maximum efficiency and the successful delivery of complex engineering projects from concept to certification. The successful candidate will also oversee the engineering budget, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to achieve organizational goals within budget and timelines.
- Establish systems to measure and monitor engineering performance and development.
- Manage engineering budgets and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Promote and sustain a culture of innovation and collaboration across the organization.
- Provide engineering support for marketing, sales, and operations for new and legacy products.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including AS9100.
- Lead professional development and mentorship for a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align engineering goals with broader business objectives.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and communicate key insights to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership capabilities with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Background in Software, Electrical/Electronic, and/or Mechanical Engineering within a CAD environment.
- Deep understanding of engineering costs and lean manufacturing principles.
- Expertise in engineering operations within a regulated manufacturing environment, such as aerospace or defense.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems preferred); advanced degree in Engineering or Business is a plus.
- 10 years of engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Must be a US Person due to regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
