Job Description

Titan Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher / Carpenter Full / / Permanent to support Salt Lake City operations. This position will require Union membership upon hire out of IBEW local 57.

The Concrete Finisher / Carpenter will construct concrete foundations to secure footings for erecting powerlines. Concrete finishers must possess a sound knowledge of the properties of concrete and understand the various types of concrete mixes and how these mixes affect concrete strength, setting and curing times as well as finish and durability. Cement masons have to take into account the complex ways in which the environment affects concrete. Warm or cool temperatures, wind, and weather can all make the concrete warp or crack. Masons have to know how the concrete responds to different changes, predict problems, and take preventative measures. Concrete finishers work with and prepare a variety of concrete materials and finishes to meet final specifications. Workers may also be involved in estimating concrete quantities and in making the arrangements for ordering and delivery of the product.

Key Responsibilities :

Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our everyday

Prepare the worksite for concrete

Place plastic concrete into forms and spread it to a specified depth

Level and straighten the surface, provide a floated, trowelled or textured surface as specified, cut joints to control cracking

Operate machines that speed production and semi-automate the placing and finishing process

Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process

Cure and protect concrete surfaces

Properly use dry pack grouting, epoxy coating and other specialty materials

Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other inserts in freshly placed concrete

Install specialty concrete and apply architectural surface treatments such as hardeners, colouring, textures or patterns

saw, cut, or core drill existing concrete

Restore concrete surfaces and repair, resurface and replace damaged sections of floors, walls, pavements and other concrete structures

Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

What We Are Looking For :

Must have experience with stick welding and cutting torch experience

Experience performing construction layout utilizing blueprint, transit and level

Must be able to build, set and grade concrete forms and embeds

Experience placing and finishing concrete

Experience operating construction equipment

The physical strength and stamina required to shovel and move wet concrete

Experience with powerline construction would be considered an asset and preferred

Able to make decisions, problem-solve and prioritize

Assist with coordinating other work crews
