FB Timberline is seeking an experienced Substation Foreman to support our North Carolina operations.
The Substation Foreman is primarily responsible for supervising a crew of technicians, construction workers, apprentices and laborers at job sites located throughout the South-East region. The Foreman will establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project, organize and coordinate all project materials, equipment and ensure that all work will be completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ability to manage and maintain assigned substation crew.
- Works to establish, adjust, and maintain work sequences to meet the construction schedule for a given project.
- Organizes and coordinates all the project materials and equipment.
- Reads and interprets blueprint specifications, contract documents, and plans.
- Analyzes and quickly resolves any work problems that may arise and ensures that all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner.
- Leads by example, sets, monitors, and enforces the standards of FB Timberlines safety expectations.
- Conducts quality control inspections on project sites.
- Coordinates with all other crafts working on a job site to ensure smooth transitions.
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in powerline construction.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing powerline or substation equipment, foundations, and structures or (brownfield & greenfield)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Must pass a background check, including drug screen.
- Experience pulling control cable and conductor.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, transits, electrical safety tools, small and heavy equipment.
- Experience studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
- Experience reading contract drawings.
- Experience installing and mounting electronic controls, device panels, sensors, and components.
- Experience installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, wiring, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment following drawings of electrical layouts and building plans.
- Ability to lead, instruct, and train workers.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
