Automation Engineer
Location: must be able to work hybrid in downtown Chicago AND Schaumburg area
Duration: contract, 6 months
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Perform thorough WebUI and API testing across different browsers and environments
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools
- Collaborate with development teams to reproduce and resolve identified issues
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks
- Generate detailed test reports and provide quality insights to the team
- Continuously improve testing processes and automation strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in software test automation
- Strong programming skills in at least one scripting/programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java)
- Proven experience in API testing
- Extensive experience with WebUI testing methodologies
Desired Technical Skills
- Proficiency with MS Playwright for test automation
- Experience with Postman and Swagger for API testing and documentation
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks
- Understanding of CI/CD pipeline integration
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
Salary : $40 - $70
