What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cutting/Slicing Operator position at FORBO SIEGLING LLC?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Work safely and efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards by selecting proper belting material and slitting and / or cutting it to correct width/length according to order form. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Reading orders and verifying proper material from stock
Using handcart or forklift to move belting material to workstation and placing it on holders for slitting / cutting machine
Setting up and operating slitting / cutting machine to slit / cut material according to order specifications
Transferring slit material to winder or cut material to next workstation
Tagging/re-tagging material as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Ability to read and understand written order specifications, including units of measure in both English and Metric.
Ability to independently and safely use and/or operate necessary machinery, tools and equipment.
Satisfactory completion of required Siegling training programs.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver large rolls of belting material weighing up to 500 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS INCLUDE:
Required to work around and/or with cutting tools, forklifts, and machinery which could cause cuts, abrasions, burns, bruises or fractures to hands or other body parts
Possible exposure to chemical vapors/odors
Temperature usually within range of 68 - 72 degrees
Humidity between 50 - 55%
