JOB SUMMARY: The Manager, Internal Audit is responsible forassisting with the day-to-day coordination of the internal audits, whether they are performed using internal Bank resources or through a co-sourced Internal Audit partner. This position serves in an independent capacity, reports directly to the EVP, Chief Audit Executive, and works closely with Bank management and other key stakeholders to align the risk-based audit program with strategic business objectives.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in an integrated manner with various audit teams and execute day-to-day audit work timely, including all phases of the audit (planning, fieldwork, and reporting)
- Assist with the day-to-day activities of the Internal Audit department by implementing action plans related to risk assessment and annual planning, audit execution, audit reporting, staff recruiting and development, third party coordination, and audit technology
- In coordination with internal and/or external (co-sourced) resources, oversee the execution of individual audits defined in the audit plan ensuring the highest level of service quality and client satisfaction
- Develop audit work programs and/or review of those developed by Internal Audit staff
- Document process flows, identify risks, assess controls, and perform audit testing in compliance with Internal Audit Standards
- In conjunction with the EVP, Chief Audit Executive, proactively inform senior management of significant risk exposures related to internal controls, compliance, and/or governance requiring attention
- Actively participate in meetings to ensure that Internal Audit is well-informed of key business developments that could have an impact on audit priorities and plans
- Have a full understanding of and experience implementing FIDICIA Controls requirements, program policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable laws
- Maintain open communication with management
- Maintain continuous knowledge development regarding regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards
- Provide feedback regarding auditors on projects they may help supervise
- As needed, interview with candidates to determine fit with Forbright Bank
- Other duties as assigned
- 5-6 years of experience in auditing and at least 1 year in a Senior Auditor role required
- High School Diploma required, Bachelors Degree with a focus in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
- Knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, and banking regulations
- Professional Certification is highly preferred, (i.e., CPA, CIA, or CISA)
- Public accounting and banking experience preferred
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, regulators, and examiners while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Proactive, hands-on results-driven management philosophy
- Excellent professional and technical writing skills
- Ability to effectively present information to staff and management
- Sound independent judgement
