Material Handler/Picker

Job Overview: The Material Handler/Picker is responsible for efficiently and accurately selecting, handling, and moving materials within the warehouse or distribution facility. This role involves verifying orders, picking items based on customer specifications, and preparing them for shipment. The Material Handler/Picker ensures all tasks are completed with a focus on quality, safety, and meeting customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Verification: Verify orders by checking the system screen to ensure accuracy before beginning the picking process.
• Dolly Preparation: Ensure a dolly or appropriate equipment is available to start the order fulfillment process.
• Order Picking: Print and follow the order form based on the section assigned. Select items in the correct order and ensure all items are picked according to customer specifications.
• Efficient Fulfillment: Perform picking duties in a timely and efficient manner to meet customer service and operational standards.
• Order Organization: Place order forms in designated slots, and pick items in the order specified by the customer (numerically and by part).
• Order Completion: Continue filling orders as per the Water Mark or Bubble Sheet process until the order is fully completed.
• Dolly Management: Place completed orders on a dolly and move them to the designated staging area for further processing.
• Quality Assurance: Double-check completed orders for accuracy before notifying the section lead for final inspection.
• Shipping Coordination: Once orders are verified, notify the tugger driver to transport the completed orders to the shipping dock for scanning and shipment preparation.
• Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with physical inventory counts as needed. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) for stock rotation and ensure inventory security.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in material handling, picking, or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, or bend for long periods.
• Capable of lifting heavy materials, up to 50 lbs, and operating warehouse equipment such as dollies, carts, and forklifts.
• Comfortable working in various warehouse environments, including areas with varying temperatures.

Work Some Saturdays
