What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Audio Visual Installation Technician position at Force Technology Solutions (FORCE.TECH)?
Force Tech is seeking a creative, highly organized and self directed Technician. Force Tech is an engineering driven technology design/build company focused on professional audio, video, lighting, broadcast, IT, and control solutions. The day to day life of a technician could involve, but is not limited to, the following:
- In shop or onsite system building
- Cable pulling
- Terminations
- Onsite installation
- Onsite commissioning supervision and assistance
- Supporting existing clients on service calls
- Seeking familiarity and education regarding new technologies
- Quality installation work is the foundation of Force Technology Solutions.
Primary Duties:
- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Must possess an understanding of systems’ components, structured cabling, fiber optics, and audio/video signal flow.
- Must be extremely proficient at many types of cable terminations and soldering (including the ability to work with small terminations and components).
- Must have the ability to read plans, room and equipment layouts, via CAD.
- Must have the ability to understand line diagrams, rack elevations, cable run lists, and room layouts.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment, up to and at times exceeding fifty (50) lbs., and work in varied conditions.
- Must be able and willing to climb ladders, scaffolding, and operate lifts in excess of fifty (50) feet.
- Must be comfortable with the use of power tools.
- Must be able to understand and conform to OSHA requirements.
- Must have the ability to understand quality performance with a strong attention to detail.
- Must possess time management and organizational skills, and have the ability to perform within realistic yet tight deadlines.
- Must adapt to a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime and/or travel out of town as needed with little notice per project.
- Must maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license with reliable personal transportation, if required.
- Must be able to pass a background screening.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must maintain a positive outlook with a strong sense of motivation and curiosity.
- Must be able to perform general wire pulling, as well as assemble neat and tidy rack and cable dressing.
- Must be experienced with soldering skills and correct termination knowledge.
- BICSI, CTS, or ESPA certifications preferred.
- Must maintain positive communications with project management, followed by solid integration skills regarding new and revised drawings.
- Must maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and embrace a team centric environment.
- Must have the ability to be on call during and after business hours for potential service calls and remote technical support.

- Secondary Duties:
When necessary, a Technician may be required to provide support in other areas around the company. Force Technology Solutions is a small business and many of the employees fulfill multiple roles to assist in the bigger picture of the company.
Job Qualifications:
- Degree and/or equivalent experinece in a technology or communication discipline.
- Minimum three (3) year’s installation or production experience and/or training
- Familiarity with communication and control system protocols including IP communication
- Familiarity with all aspects of AVL, production, broadcast, and automation solutions
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sense of self motivation
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment, as well as independently
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to continually reprioritize
- Ability to handle multiple tasks daily and respond quickly and accurately to requests for assistance
- Certification in CTS, or willing to work toward successful completion within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
Compensation:
Hourly; $26.00 - $30,00 depending on experience, qualifications, and ability to work overtime.
