The Field/Project Engineer will oversee system design, technical documentation, testing, and on-site commissioning of our commercial AV systems. This involves designing audio, video, lighting, and control systems aligned with customer specifications, installation requirements, and profitability goals.
The successful candidate will conduct thorough tests on sound, video, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and functionality. They will verify connection labels, configure IP addressable devices, and complete detailed project close-outs, ensuring all installed systems meet Ford's rigorous quality standards before handover.
This position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site. The Field/Project Engineer will travel to job sites both locally and internationally to support installations, addressing system challenges with real-time problem-solving and working directly with customers to understand their needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD/AutoCAD for system design and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with commercial AV systems, including audio, video, and control equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field.
- Ability to travel, including overnight travel for system installations and commissioning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
