What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Engineering Manager position at FORD COMPONENT SALES?
Ford Component Sales, LLC (FCS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company aligned with the Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD). We are a flexible sales organization that directs resources toward revenue opportunities identified by FCSD.
We are in search of a Fleet Engineering Supervisor that is responsible to include supervises and prioritizes all engineering projects and requests from Engineering Manager. The Engineering Supervisor will assure that all engineering activities are performed, meet project timing, and meet customer expectations. Have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct, and demonstrate all duties and tasks for Product Development Engineers (PDE) and Senior Engineers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads PDEs with assigned projects, new product discussions, design issues, and quality issue resolution to ensure timely releases in WERS and on time product launches at designated facilities
- Steers weekly engineering group meetings for project and issue status; ensures project milestones are met
- Serves as engineering lead for powertrain, accessories, OEM, and aftermarket sales
- Supervises PDEs as they provide support to operations and sales for product updates, identification, etc., prior to the development of customer quotations
- Provides analytical feedback on product evaluations and fit ups at DSC 1, plant and third party mod centers, FADs, etc.
- Meets as necessary with customers and provides technical services related to use, operation, and maintenance of components
- Meets with high level program team members (including directors, chief engineers and program management) to discuss current and future products, and address concerns
- Ensures PDEs are trained on department systems, including Team Center, WERS, etc. Also provides guidance on career planning and training opportunities
- Ensures PDEs are meeting all company quality requirements as well as participate in annual quality audits and training. Review and revise department processes for continuous improvement
- Provides management with reports as requested and report out in weekly meetings on active projects
- Other tasks as assigned

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
