Diesel Technician Job Description
Downtown Ford is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our dealership’s service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Ford diesel-powered cars and light-duty trucks, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Ford diesel vehicles, including F-Series trucks and Super Duty models.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems, emissions, drivetrains, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and cooling system repairs.
- Use manufacturer-approved diagnostic tools and follow Ford factory repair procedures.
- Perform warranty and customer-pay repairs per dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Communicate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and timelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following dealership protocols.
- Stay current with Ford training and certifications to enhance technical skills.
Qualifications:
- ASE Certification and/or Ford Factory Training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Ford diesel engine systems and repair procedures.
- Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software and service manuals.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required.
Pay depends on skill and experience.
