Job Summary - Commercial Lines Account Technician
Responsible for providing administrative support to assist the sales and Account Management Team in supporting existing accounts and earning new business. Ensuring efficient handling of policy processing, endorsements, and renewals. Managing data entry, issuing certificates of insurance, and assisting with billing. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in insurance systems are essential for success in this role. This role offers hands on training and a pathway to becoming proficient in managing accounts and supporting a team with the goal to progress to an account manager position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Policy Processing
- Set-up customer files; process documentation and conduct miscellaneous filing
- Issuing certificates of insurance, ID cards, and other forms as needed
- Policy checking for endorsements and renewals
- Handle any additional insured or other endorsements as needed for commercial account managers
Data Management
- Reviewing and verifying client information for accuracy
- Updating policy details as necessary
- Maintaining accurate records within the agency management system
- Complying with agency management system data standards and ensuring data integrity
- Managing eDocs including new mail, endorsements, renewals, billing, and others
- Retrieving documents from carrier websites that are not in eDocs
Client Communication & Administrative Support
- Communicating with clients on policy & audit payment reminders
- Preparing policy documents for review by Account Managers
- Gathering driver list information for policy renewals for underwriting
- Assigning appropriate tasks to Account Managers for carrier documents requiring follow-up
Financial & Billing Management
- Overseeing agency billing processes, including managing invoices, customer correspondence, and AMS records
- Managing Financed accounts
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using CRMs (ideal)
- Understanding of commercial insurance policies and coverage options (ideal)
Education/Experience
· High School Diploma (required)
· Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
· 1 years related work experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting Wage: $42,000-50,000 -- depending on experience
