Job Summary: The Junior Tech is to integrate and learn our processes while assisting in the maintenance of fleet vehicles and daily operations. This position is intended to train and develop the skillsets that are utilized in a fully functioning performance-based shop.
What you will do:
- Develop skills and knowledge as a career automotive technician
- Develop personal tooling to evolve beyond an entry level position
- Assist with any routine maintenance and tech turns of FPRS fleet vehicles
- Perform tire dismounting, mounting, and wheel balancing
- Assist with general and varied day-to-day duties allow for efficient operations of the Shop
- Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness of shop and storage areas
- Efficiently perform various onsite and offsite errands – including vehicle transports
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of FPRS East, its vehicles, and its programs
- Protect the moral, legal and financial well-being of the Ford Performance Racing School
- Continually work with other team members to find new and better ways of doing business with an emphasis on safety, accountability, leadership, and guest service
- Any other job duties as assigned by management
Knowledge and Skills you possess:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Ability to interact well with fellow employees, vendors, customers, and guests
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission
- Maintain a current forklift operator certificate
- Ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner
- Must be able to make quick, sound decisions based on facts – problem solving skills
- Basic computer skills
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to Shop Manager
- Receives direction and assignments from Shop Supervisor
Expectations:
- Adhere to an event-driven work schedule - primarily Monday thru Friday with some evenings, weekends, and holidays required
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Professionally represent the company in the community, industry organizations, and during events
- Show respect for others
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Maintain current valid driver’s license, clean driving record, pass background and drug screening
Physical Demands:
- May be required to work long hours – in various weather conditions
- Active, physical, on-the-go daily workflow
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Moderate to high levels of stress may be associated with this position
